ALLARD (Guy). Zizimi, Prince of the Ottomans, lover of Philipine-Heleine de Sassenage. History of the Dauphiné. Grenoble, Jean Nicolas, 1673. In-12, red morocco, with gilt fillet and garland decoration, decorated spine, gilt edges (18th-century binding). Title page, 382 pp., 1 folio of privilege.
First edition of this adventure and romance novel, a roman à clef, by the Dauphiné historian and genealogist Guy Allard (Varces, 1635 – Voiron, 1716).
This is the first publication, following a pamphlet from 1660, by the future barrister at the Parliament of Grenoble.
