[PRÉCHAC (Jean de)]. *L’Illustre Génoise*, a romantic short story. Paris, C. Blageart, 1685. 12mo, brown calfskin with gilt spine, marbled edges (contemporary binding). 4 folios, 279 pages, (1 page of privileges). First edition of this novella by the prolific novelist Jean de Préchac (Buzy, 1647 – Pau, 1720), in which he justifies France’s reprisals against Genoa, guilty of having lent support to the Spanish fleet in the Mediterranean.
