First edition of F. de Grenaille’s translation of Giovan Francesco Loredan’s *Bizarrie accademiche*. This is a collection of discourses on unusual subjects, delivered by Loredan at the *Accademia degli Incogniti* which he had founded.
Bound together with: [DU BRETON (Antoine)]. *L’Amour en son Throne* or *Les nouvelles amoureuses du Loredan, gentilhomme Vénitien*. Paris, Anthoine Robinot, 1646. 4 ff., 236 pp. First edition of the translation by Antoine Du Breton of seven short stories, *Novelle amorose*, by Loredan. Stamp on p. 43.
A copy belonging to Gustave Mouravit (1840–1920), with a handwritten note concerning this book on the flyleaf and his small stamp on the title page. The copy was bound by Pouget for the bibliophile Amédée Rigaud (1819–1873), with his monogram on the cover and his bookplate bearing the motto ‘Bona fide sine fraude’.
