In-4, speckled brown calfskin, gilt coat of arms on the covers, decorated spine, red edges (contemporary binding). 14 unnumbered folios (including the frontispiece by F. Chauveau, engraved by N. Regnesson), 567 pp., 1 p. of privilege. Second edition published one year after the first edition by the same publisher. A copy bound with the coat of arms of Alexandre de la Rochefoucauld, Duke of La Roche Guyon (1690–1762), bearing the seal of the Château de La Roche Guyon (1987, no. 952).
