First edition of this translation of Portugal’s iconic epic, by the novelist and playwright L. A. Duperron de Castera (Paris, 1705 – Warsaw, 1752). Frontispiece by Bonnart, engraved by Scotin, and 10 unsigned insert illustrations by Bonnart. Copy bearing the coat of arms of Jean-Claude Fauconnet de Vildé, who was appointed Councillor of the City of Paris in 1733. Hinges cracked. Cohen 200 – Olivier 1654.
