LOREDAN (Gian Francesco) – [MAILLY (Chevalier de)]. The Life of Adam with Reflections. Translated from the Italian by Loredano. New revised edition. Paris, published by Edme Couterot. Also available in Brussels from Jean de Smedt, 1711. Small 12mo, black morocco, double gilt fillet binding, spine with gilt fillets and fleurons, gilt interior lace, gilt edges (Lobstein). 179 pp. (the first 14 pages numbered in Roman numerals). The volume is adorned with a frontispiece engraved by Harrewyn. This is a translation by the Chevalier de Mailly of Gian Francesco Loredan’s *Vita di Adamo*, first published in Venice in 1640. The first edition of this translation was published in Paris by Conterot in 1695. This new edition was published under a privilege granted by King Philip of Castile to Jean de Smedt in 1705.
