London and Paris, Duchesne, 1763. 3 volumes in-12, long-grain morocco, framed with a gilt fillet, plain spines with gilt fillets, interior framing of gilt scrolls, gilt edges (early 19th-century English binding). First collected edition, featuring a portrait after Saint-Aubin and a frontispiece in volume 2. Volume 3 contains the *History of the Early Centuries of Rome*. New, revised and corrected edition.  A fine bound copy commissioned for the English Earl George-John Sackville-West, Earl of La Warr (1791–1869), a British courtier and politician, and a fellow pupil of Byron at Harrow School, bearing his armorial bookplate.
