RACINE (Louis). Memoirs on the Life of Jean Racine, and a Collection of Letters by Jean Racine. Lausanne and Geneva, Bousquet, 1747. 2 volumes in-12, marbled brown calfskin, gilt coats of arms in the centre of the covers, smooth, decorated spines, red and black title labels, red edges (contemporary binding). First edition of Louis Racine’s memoirs about his father.  Following this work of filial piety are the Letters of J. Racine and Boileau, along with speeches and fragments attributed to Racine, including *The Siege of Namur*. A fine copy bound with the coat of arms of Charles-Philippe d’Albert, Duke of Luynes and Chevreuse, Count of Montfort and Tours (1695–1758).  The headbands have been skilfully restored.
