Description
[MISSAL]. Prayers from an Israelite Heart. Paris-Passy, Kaufmann, n.d. (1890). In-12, red morocco leather, covers framed by a double fillet and a garland of gilded fleurons, gilded monogram on the upper cover, plain spine bearing the title running lengthwise, decorated with the same framing as the covers, red morocco linings adorned with a broad roulette border, fillets, garlands and dotted lines in gold, fleurons at the corners, red silk endpapers, guilloché caps, dotted edges, gilt edges, metal clasp in the shape of a seashell with red morocco straps, a red shagreen slipcase lined with white silk bearing the same monogram (Gruel). A superb binding by Gruel, in a very vivid red morocco.  Bearing the monogram of Alexandre Lantelme (1832–1904), a solicitor at the Court of Grenoble and an eminent bibliophile.
