Rectangular in shape, made of walnut and mahogany, with brass fittings cut with interlaced patterns and fleurs-de-lis; the sides are fitted with movable handles. The lid, which has two secret compartments on the underside, opens to reveal a flap on the front and a compartment and two small drawers. Screws are recessed into the sides to secure the chest
