Description
Early 18th-century flat-topped desk Rectangular in shape, with a central section in rosewood and amaranth veneer; the dark top is trimmed with gilded leather featuring small iron fittings; it features three drawers arranged in a band, the drawers being arched and cut-out, with the central drawer set back on either side of two large clamps. Identical faux drawers on the opposite side. Chiselled and gilded bronze fittings, with mouldings emphasising the edges of the legs, clogs, lock plates, and a moulding encircling the top, adorned with clasp motifs at the corners. Curved legs.
