Description
Transition-period secretary chest The frame is made of fir veneered with rosewood, palisander and sycamore, featuring a frieze of Greek fretwork around the middle and a pattern of cubes interspersed with floral squares, all set within framing mouldings. It opens to reveal three drawers; the middle drawer is fitted with a flap that forms a writing surface, revealing five drawers and a storage compartment. The side panels are bevelled and feature simulated fluting that extends down to the curved legs. Gilded bronze fittings, movable rings, keyholes and feet. Top in turquin-pink marble.
