Signs of wear, damage, losses, cracks
The cabinet presented here is characteristic of the eclecticism and monumentality of the Umbertino style, named after Umberto I; it can be compared to the works of Adriano Brambilla (1822–1885) or one of his followers, owing to the richness of the materials used, its decorative elements drawn from both the Renaissance and Gothic repertoires, and its inlaid decoration known as ‘alla certonisa’.
