French piece from the 1870s–1880s A delicate mourning ring in 750‰ yellow gold with a rectangular bezel featuring bevelled edges, half-pearls and a band of black enamel; the shoulders are decorated with chiselled foliage motifs. Rhomboid hallmark of the Lyon-based workshop GAUCLERE & VIAL. French craftsmanship, Horse’s Head hallmark, Departments, 1838–1919 (Lyon variant). Ring size: 55. Setting dimensions: 1.4 x 0.7 cm. Gross weight: 2.2 g. (A few pearls missing, ring distorted).
