Description
French piece from the second half of the 19th century A set in 750‰ yellow gold and coral comprising a ‘Papillon’ brooch-pendant ’ – the insect’s wings and head are chiselled and set with half-pearls – a pair of stud earrings and two curb-chain bracelets that can be converted into a necklace (one of which is slightly damaged). Rhomboid workshop hallmark. Brooch-pendant – 750‰ yellow gold pin – Dimensions: 4.9 x 5.6 cm. Ear studs – Screw-fastening system for pierced ears – Diameter of motifs: 0.7 cm. Bracelets – Diameter of coral beads: approx. 0.5 mm. Lengths: 15.5 and 19 cm. Total gross weight: 27.8 g. (One pearl missing from the brooch; wear and damage to the coral; gaps). Comes with a worn, golden-brown morocco leather case in a moulded shape with small metal fittings, signed ‘SCHILDER Bijoutier Alger’.
