Created in 1945, the ‘Palmettes’ bracelets and necklaces are iconic designs from the House of Boucheron in the immediate post-war period. They are also a magnificent example of the revival of designs from the Atelier Georges Lenfant for the Parisian jewellery houses on the Place Vendôme, following the upheavals of recent years.
Bibliography: CLAIS, A.-M. and LASOWSKI, P. W., *BOUCHERON, La capture de l’éclat*, Editions Cercle d’art, 2005, Paris, illustration 159 showing a reproduction of a “Palmettes” necklace. The catalogue entry specifies that this is a design by Lenfant from 1945 and that “some models could be separated into two bracelets”.
