French piece from the second half of the 19th century
A substantial hinged reliquary pendant, ‘Panier fleuri’, in 750‰ rose gold and 800‰ silver enamelled in black and white and set with rose-cut diamonds, sapphires, emeralds and facetted rubies mounted in closed settings on a base of small stones; the setting is accented with white baroque cultured pearls, some in pendants. The movable bail, in the shape of a stylised fleur-de-lis, holds a pear-shaped pendant.
Fitted with hooks, the basket detaches from its suspension. The rear section of the basket, fitted with a glass pane, opens.
Numbered ‘999’.
