Decorative sentiment motif set in a 585‰ rose gold ring, the marquise-shaped motif enhanced by a miniature inscribed with the phrase ‘HOPE IS DESTROYD’, set within a double border of translucent blue enamel and half-pearls; the band is in chiselled 585‰ rose gold. Alterations; probably British in origin, partly from the 19th century. Ring size: 55. Setting dimensions: 2.9 x 1.7 cm. Gross weight: 7.4 g.
