Description
An elegant brooch crafted from 18-carat white gold (750 fineness) and platinum (over 850 fineness), featuring an openwork floral design entirely set with brilliant-cut and marquise-cut diamonds. The top is set with a trapezoid-cut diamond and a baguette-cut diamond, each weighing approximately 0.40 carats.
At its centre is a large, unheated Burmese ruby cut into a teardrop cabochon, set in a movable element fitted with a reversible system capable of accommodating a second stone on the reverse, thus allowing it to be adapted to different occasions.
Goldsmith’s hallmark: G – a clover in a palm leaf – C in a diamond pattern for Georges Chabrolle, listed in the Didot-Bottin Trade Directory in 1926.
