Robert Thibier (1926–2001), interior designer and publisher. Special commission, circa 1980. A chest of drawers with four drawers, made of mahogany veneered with stainless steel sheets and gilded metal strips forming the decoration and drawer handles, with a framed decorative motif on the side panels, the top surface topped with a glass panel revealing a chequerboard pattern of gold- and chrome-finished stainless steel sheets, resting on a plinth. 91 x 111 x 40.5 cm. Chest of drawers designed and crafted in 1981 for the interior of a Parisian flat in the 14th arrondissement, a former artist’s studio converted into a duplex.
