Description
Robert Thibier (1926–2001), interior designer and furniture maker. Special commission, circa 1980. Coffee table with a rectangular frame made of wood veneered with stainless steel sheets and gilded metal strips. The unit is mounted on (concealed) castors. The top is fitted with a glass panel revealing a chequerboard pattern of gold- and chrome-finished steel sheets. 36.5 x 61.5 x 121.5 cm. Table designed and crafted for the interior of a Parisian flat in the 14th arrondissement in 1981, a former artist’s studio converted into a duplex.
