Description
Robert Thibier (1926–2001), interior designer and furniture maker. Special commission, circa 1980. A console table doubling as a bar, featuring a rectangular cantilevered structure, made of wood veneered with gold-plated brass sheets and gold-plated metal strips. The top is fitted with a glass panel revealing a chequerboard pattern of gold- and chrome-plated steel sheets. 75 x 42 x 82 cm. Set designed and crafted for the interior of a Parisian flat in the 14th arrondissement in 1981, a former artist’s studio converted into a duplex.
