Description
A beech armchair with moulded, carved and patinated panels, featuring a cane-seated back. The backrest and crossbar are centred by a large shell motif bordered by foliage scrolls. The armrests are set back and slightly flared. Set on four curved legs, fitted with shell-shaped finials. Stamped ‘L. CRESSON’ for Louis CRESSON, who was admitted as a master in 1738.
Regency period.
Dimensions: 96 x 67 x 54 cm.
(One leg restored, visible wear and losses, a cushion covered in taupe velvet.)
