Description
A chest of drawers with a curved front and sides, inlaid with rosewood and violetwood. It opens at the front to reveal two drawers without a crossbar. Radiating inlay in the shape of a heart on the front and butterfly wings on the sides. Lock plates, clasp and pull handles in chiselled and gilded bronze. Moulded breccia marble top. Regency period, circa 1760 Dimensions: 84 x 126 x 61 cm. (Signs of wear, losses and lifting of the veneer, and visible cracks. Restorations to the back panels) Note: the marquetry is reminiscent of the work of the Roussel family. This lot is presented by Mr François LACHAUD.
