A neo-classical yellow gold bracelet with a central agate cameo depicting the goddess Athena in profile, set with a series of carnelian intaglios in a closed setting with fine chasing, linked by open rings.
The engraved scenes are supposed to represent: the dog Argos who recognises his master Ulysses returning home after 20 years' absence - Lion and Satyr (Pan type) with his thyrse - a blacksmith (Hephaistos type) with Eros holding a lowered arrow - a snake man confronting a goat - Aphrodite reclining with a floating veil - Psyche seated holding a jug with Eros playing a melody on the double pipes.
Hook clasp (unsoldered - trace of tin soldering) - Safety chain (later addition) - knocks on the frame.
