A silver writing case, rectangular in shape, standing on four claw feet, the edges moulded with grenetis, the openwork flask-holders, the pen-holder engraved with a coat of arms stamped with a crest, comprising three cut-glass flasks with silver lids, (the lids unmarked, one engraved with a different crest). Master silversmith: Charles Aldridge & Henry Green London, 1779 (Wear, scratches and minor knocks). Gross weight of the base and lids: 165.5 g. The coat of arms is that of the Fanshawe family.
