Gilded metal and shagreen* repeater watch with triple protective cases, English-made for the Ottoman market.
Case: the main case in gilded metal, engraved and pierced on the middle, with a double metal back for the resonance of the repeater; the second case engraved with a maritime scene on the reverse; and the third case decorated with shagreen and perforated around the edges.
Dial: engraved metal, Turkish hour markers, signed.
Movement: gilded, verge escapement, finely engraved silver-plated cock re-perforated with scroll decoration, two-hammer repeater on gong, signed and numbered 426 mainplate.
