Description
A pair of silver candlesticks resting on a base featuring contoured edges, mouldings and scallops. The plain bell is engraved with a coat of arms symbolising a marriage alliance beneath a count’s crown (previously scraped away). The shaft is triangular and decorated with entablatures, scrolls and shells. The bowl is faceted. Master silversmith: Gabriel Faurie, admitted in 1732 Bordeaux, 1740–1741 Height: 23.5 cm Weight: 1,413 g Included is a pair of candlesticks with fillet-edged contours. Paris, 1785–1786 Weight: 68 g Minor imperfections and previous restoration work.
