Description
An oil cruet stand with silver stoppers, resting on four legs with double scrollwork. The tray’s rim is edged with moulded fillets and surmounted by two partially openwork cruet holders decorated with shells, scrolls and vine tendrils on one, and olive branches on the other. The stoppers, chiselled with an alternating pattern of gadroons and channels, are surmounted by foliage and vine fruit. Master silversmith: Daniel Imlin, qualified in 1780 Strasbourg, 1781–1782 Length: 28 cm Weight: 590 g
