Description
An oil cruet stand with silver stopper in the shape of a shuttle, resting on four legs featuring scrollwork and rocaille motifs. The plain body is edged with scrollwork and mouldings. The partially openwork cruet holders consist of uprights chased with vine tendrils and cascading foliage. The stoppers are chased with scrolls and rocaille motifs. Master silversmith: Edme Pierre Balzac, admitted to the guild in 1739 Paris, 1766–1767 Length: 25 cm Weight: 799 g One of the cruet holders requires reattachment.
