Description
A silver bowl and lid; the body is plain, whilst the handles are pierced with cascading fleurons, scrolls and acanthus leaves. The lid, with a fluted rim, is chiselled with channels edged with amati and friezes of cascading laurel leaves. The handle is in the shape of a burst pomegranate set upon a base of foliage branches.
All the pieces are hallmarked.
Master silversmith: attributed to Nicolas Cornu, who qualified in 1770.
