OLYMPIC ‘Swiss Chronograph’ chronograph in 18k rose gold (750 parts per thousand). Circa 1950 Men’s chronograph wristwatch in 18k rose gold (750 thousandths). - Round 18k rose gold case with a clipped caseback. Case back engraved with gold hallmarks (18K / 0.750 cartouche, Swiss Helvetia head hallmark, case-maker’s hammer hallmark) and the serial number 909312. Rectangular chronograph pushers. - Salmon/rose gold dial, marked OLYMPIC / ANCRE 17 RUBIS / ANTIMAGNETIC. Arabic numerals (12, 6) and applied gold dagger-shaped hour markers. Two recessed sub-dials (small seconds at 9 o’clock, 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock). Tachymeter (in red) and telemeter (in black) scales on the hour ring. Leaf-style hands. - Manual-winding mechanical movement, 17 jewels. - Without a strap (metal spring bars retained). Diameter: 38 mm Weight: 38.1 g Condition: Good overall condition, slight micro-scratches from wear and small marks where the case back has been opened. Gold hallmarks and serial number perfectly clear. Plexiglass in good condition. Beautiful, even patina on the salmon-coloured dial; slight oxidation/wear on the hands. The watch was in working order at the time of valuation; a routine service is recommended to ensure optimal functioning of the chronograph module (accuracy and power reserve not guaranteed). No box or papers.
