POLAK AÎNE (Emmanuel Polak, known as, 1863–?). Art Deco period.
A vanity set in vermeil and 800‰ silver, comprising a lipstick stick, a rod-link chain and a hexagonal powder compact, all enamelled in blue, with an iridescent guilloché circular motif depicting the famous Chinese talisman at the centre of the powder compact’s lid.
Master’s hallmark B.L. (Adèle Brufal le Joly, who set up shop in 1932 at 21 rue des Filles du Calvaire, one of the few female jewellers of the period). Mirror slightly stained. Good condition, particularly the enamel.
