Description
A Japanese piece from the late 19th century, Meiji period. A large circular cloisonné enamel dish, with a polychrome decoration of peonies, chrysanthemums and various other flowers on a turquoise background; the rim is adorned with a frieze of stylised flowers on a cream background. The reverse is enamelled in turquoise with a decoration of golden spirals, fitted with a three-pronged brass mounting. Diameter 36.5 cm. Very good condition.
