Diameter: 24.5 cm Octagonal earthenware plate on the theme of the Imperial Guard (Scouts 1814), decorated with polychrome illustrations of soldiers, signed by H. Chassagnac. Marked ‘Fayencerie de St Clément’. Edition 1624/3000. Diameter: 27 cm. Slight marks. Set of 6 modern plates designed by H. Chassagnac to mark the Bicentenary of the French Revolution 1789–1989, including ‘Proclamation of the Rights of Man’ (No. 550/4000), ‘Revolutionary Flags’, edition 555/5000, ‘Death to the King’, edition 1550/4000, ‘Arrest of the King at Varenne’, editions 2042/4000 and 1269/ 4,000, “Departure of the Volunteers” (ed. 1,516/4,000).
