Description
A set of porcelain and earthenware ornaments.
It comprises a pair of anthropomorphic earthenware salt cellars depicting a woman holding two baskets, a lidded square box with a polychrome floral decoration in slight relief, and a lidded Limoges porcelain medicine jar inscribed ‘CIGÜE’. Also included are a pair of small candlesticks in German porcelain (Schierholz) decorated with applied roses, as well as a tripod cup and saucer in gilded porcelain adorned with a view of Brussels.
Dimensions: saleron 15 x 19 x 8 cm; square box 9 x 9 cm; ‘Ciguë’ jar H. 14 cm, diam. 6 cm; candlesticks H. 7 cm, diam. 6 cm; cup H. 6 cm and saucer diam. 11 cm.
Condition: in good overall condition, slight wear to the gilding on the cup, traces of old labels under some of the bases.
