Description
A fireplace mantelpiece in regule and green onyx depicting the allegories of Peace and Labour, after a design by Charles Théodore PERRON, comprising a clock and two four-armed candelabra decorated with baluster vases and foliage. A plaque bearing the inscription ‘Par Ch. PERRON’ on the plinth of the allegorical figure. The clock’s dial is white enamelled with Roman numerals for the hours and a railway-track minute scale, and Arabic numerals for the minutes. Winding holes at the 4 and 8 o’clock positions.
