After Andries Cornelis LENS (1739–1822), engraved by Pieter MARTENASIE (1729–1789) Jocasta urging Eteocles and Polynices to make peace. Black-and-white engraving. In the letter in the lower margin: coat of arms, a lengthy dedication to the Count of Neny, and the inscriptions ‘A. Lens inv. et pinx.’ on the left and ‘Pitre Martenasie sculp. 1774’ on the right. Dimensions: 57 x 42.5 cm. As is (severe foxing, dust, mounted on a rigid panel).
