Description
A glazed ceramic hat stand (or cylindrical vase) featuring a polychrome decoration in the ‘Famille Rose’ style. Made in China in the late 19th or early 20th century. The body depicts a peaceful scene featuring three elegant young women (meiren) dressed in flowing, colourful gowns, gathered in a garden in the shade of a blossoming tree. The base, characterised by a wide unglazed foot rim, bears a mark carved into its centre (resembling the letter ‘W’).
Dimensions: H. 29.5 cm, D. 11 cm.
Condition: Appears to be in good overall condition. Signs of use, wear and marked soiling beneath the base. Small chips of enamel or scuffs.
