Description
A lidded porcelain vase with a light-coloured base, featuring a polychrome enamel decoration depicting the ‘Hundred Antiquities’ (Bogu) motif. This theme brings together various precious and auspicious objects: it features a large central vase adorned with a landscape medallion, a flowerpot on its wooden stand, a tripod incense burner, as well as floral arrangements and rocks. The lid, surmounted by a pointed fretel enhanced with gilding, is adorned with a few calligraphic characters. With no mark on the base, this piece is a Chinese production from the late 19th or first half of the 20th century. The piece rests on a circular openwork wooden plinth.
Dimensions: H. 29 cm, D. 20 cm (excluding plinth)
Condition: Appears to be in good overall condition. Normal signs of wear on the plinth.
