The ‘Apple’ watch was designed by Richard Loftus, a designer at the Accurist Watch Company. This ‘Old England’ watch was sold for a short period at the Beatles’ Apple shop, located on Baker Street in the Chelsea district of London, in 1968. The Apple shop opened its doors on 5 December 1967 and remained open for only seven months.
