Description
OLD ENGLAND "THE BEATLES" Gold-plated metal case, dial with a purple background. Leather strap with a pin buckle. Hand-wound mechanical movement (calibre BF 866). Plexiglas crystal. Circa 1968. A gold-plated wristwatch with a mechanical movement, by Old England. Circa 1968. The ‘Apple’ watch was designed by Richard Loftus, a designer at the Accurist Watch Company. This ‘Old England’ watch was sold for a short period at the Beatles’ Apple shop, located on Baker Street in the Chelsea district of London, in 1968. The Apple shop opened its doors on 5 December 1967 and remained open for only seven months. RC: Sold as is, with signs of wear and use. Movement not functioning at the time of writing this description; a routine service is recommended, but no guarantee is provided. Diameter: 34 mm.
