Description
A rare Auvergne pendant from Le Puy-en-Velay, known as the ‘Rose du Velay’, set in a rosette of round, facetted white imitation stones on a colourless and greenish link chain. The whole piece is made from yellow gold plates (750 thousandths) stamped on both sides. Late 19th-century work.
Traces of restoration, distortions, oxidation and stones showing signs of wear. One scroll element is missing. (Lanyard loop added)
Horse’s head hallmark.
