Description
NANCY SCHOOL – Lorraine. A very fine pair of Art Nouveau door handles, in bronze, decorated with ginkgo leaves and beetles. This piece, of which a similar pair exists on Boulevard Charles V in Nancy, is reminiscent of the work of Jules Cayette (1882–1953), though it is not an exact replica. These handles were sold in the early 20th century by the firm HAAS, and appear in their catalogue. Dated 1910–1920. Length: 34 cm.
