Emile ROBERT (1860–1924), Paris. A rare Art Nouveau wrought-iron paraffin lamp decorated with poppies. A model exhibited at the 1900 World’s Fair. Height (excluding the mechanism, which has been modified): 64 cm.

Emile Robert, a highly renowned artistic metalworker, trained the country’s greatest blacksmiths, notably Jean Prouvé, before the latter chose to pursue a career in design.
