Ferdinand DESNOS (1901–1958). *The Reaper* (Touraine). Oil on canvas, signed lower right, dated 1924, titled and located on the reverse. 33 x 40 cm. After his marriage in 1923, Desnos settled in Montrichard and began painting in oils. His subjects were inspired by rural life and work in the fields, including this painting, etc. He left this rural setting in 1927 to move to Paris.
