Henri CHAPU (1833–1891). *La Pensée*. A brown-green patinated bronze bas-relief sculpture depicting a young lady lifting a veil. Signed H. CHAPU and bearing the foundry mark ‘Thiébaut Frères, Fumière et Gavignot S[uccesseu]rs Paris’”. On a plinth with a back panel in red Pyrenean marble. Late 19th century. Height: 20.3 cm. Minor chips to the edges of the marble. A solid nut is missing from the reverse.
