Description
Georges JOUVE (1910–1964). ‘Bear’s paw’ ashtray in yellow crackled glazed ceramic. Marked with an ‘alpha’ under the base. Height: 8 cm; length: 19 cm; width: 18 cm. (one chip reattached) History: this model stems from the collaboration between Georges Jouve and Mathieu Matégot, which began in the early 1950s and continued until 1959. Presented on its own or on a metal stand, it was mass-produced using the casting technique and was available in several colours.
