MADAGASCAR. Joseph RAMANANKAMONJY (1898-1984). "Carters around the fire". Oil on canvas signed, situated and dated 1937. 39,5 and 54 cm. Accidents. Original exotic wood frame. Provenance: General Paul POIREL (1884-1951). Then deputy commissioner of colonial troops, he embarked for Madagascar in February 1912. He headed the Majunga sub-intendency from June 1913 to March 1914, when he returned to France. He probably returned to the Big Island in 1938.
