[Sacred art]. Collection of 18 images of piety, mostly polychrome, sometimes enhanced with gold, and in superb mechanical lace (canivet). Published by Bouasse-Lebel, Dopter, Bès et Dubreuil, Basset, Turgis, Letaille, etc. They represent the Nativity, the "Bread of the Journey" (host), the Good Shepherd, the Holy Cross, Saint Ligoru, the scapular, the laying down of the cross, Christ, the Sacred Heart, etc. Second third of the 19th century. Very minor accidents. Provenance: Evelyne TAVENAUX, author of "La Piété en dentelles", Presses universitaires de Nancy (1992), for which several of these cards were used as illustrations (notably the cover!).
