Very rare enamelled silver commander's badge, the rays in points of diamond pierced, the centre decorated with the figure of Mohammed Bey (1855-1859). Tunis mint mark. Long narrow silk tie of the period (discoloration). Star diameter: 59 mm. Gross weight: 52.2 g. Chips in the central medallion. The badge was redesigned in 1857 in the form of a ten-pointed star. Our badge dates from 1857-1859.
